Former Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Charges Against 38 Patients
Legal authorities report that a ex- physician has been charged with committing assaults involving 38 victims who were patients.
Details of the Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – comprising some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
A senior prosecutor said, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
These allegations come after what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
Breakdown of Charges
The charging documents said the 45 charges he is charged with:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
