Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions

The Gunners' 10-game victorious streak was ended by the Black Cats prior to the international break, but will the English top division frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against artificial intelligence, readers and a range of guests.

For week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' latest record, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Football and Family Experiences

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a star of several Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "My team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.

"I will not push football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend football team," he added.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a period too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our team for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to be patient for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this fixture will be quite close, though. The Clarets are well organised and their only home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

It smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

Olly's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple games - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, West Ham secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

West Ham's sole on the road victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's manager.

Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - can West Ham extending their run under their manager, or the home side responding?

I will choose the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season began, but they have impressed a few people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four matches.

My son told me to get Bees forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.

The forward will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had much fortune on the road this term, and Brighton are consistently decent at their stadium. The visitors will try to attack on the break but I feel the home manager's side pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's view: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually proves to be rather close. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six games.

They have have lots of talent in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

Their display in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to support the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of last month.

But I am not do that. Rather, I really need to carry on going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the sole side they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be extremely eager for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

The guest's choice: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a bad run... but they have still been decent at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard one to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but might they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
