The United Kingdom is prepared to move forward with utilizing the total value of seized Russia's holdings to support Ukraine's war effort, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a collective announcement, the leaders of the United Kingdom, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany stated that this unified step would heighten pressure on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and urge Moscow to come to the table.

They added that the decision would be carried out in close cooperation with the US.

UK sanctions have blocked in excess of £25bn of Russia's funds since Russia began its comprehensive attack against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. But, up to this point, funds provided to the Ukrainian government using Russian assets had only been sourced from earnings and returns generated on them.

Sir Keir informed President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and Germany were aligned in their aim to push forward toward utilizing the complete amount of the seized Russia's state holdings to conclude the conflict.

He stated that further sanctions soon would increase the strain on Russia.

This announcement is subsequent to European Union leaders convened in Copenhagen recently to debate utilizing frozen Russia's funds for a €140bn financial aid to Ukraine.

Recently, American leader Donald Trump urged G7 allies to seize or utilize seized Russian assets, according to news outlets.

The total of frozen Russia's holdings in the Europe is assessed to be almost €211bn.

Russia carried out extensive aerial attacks across Ukraine on recently, resulting in power cuts in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv, and eight other regions.

"Every sanction decision diminishes the Russian war effort," Zelensky declared, in a separate post.

Also on Friday, Zelensky told media outlets he would encourage Sir Keir to enter the Purl programme, under which partner nations buy weapons from the US to provide to the Ukrainian forces.

While praising the UK's strong support for Ukraine, he remarked it should indicate firmly that it would take part in the initiative, as well as impose more measures on Russia.
